The GSE Storage Investment database presents a collection of GSE and non-GSE public information on storage projects around Europe. The projects are presented per country and company. The status of each project is indicated as:
- planned in case the project is at an early evaluation stage
- committed in case the project is under evaluation by the company with detailed studies and possibly undergoing planning and permitting stages
- under construction in case the project has already started (procurement and physical operations)

GSE represents the interests of 31 Storage System Operators with around 110 storage sites in 16 countries in Europe, representing approximately 85% of EU technical storage capacity. GSE is one column of GIE, Gas Infrastructure Europe, the European association of the Transmission Storage and LNG Terminal Operator |

The data published in the GSE Storage Investment database is based on publicly available information solely. As indicated in the database for each project, some of the data have been provided by GSE member companies, others come from public source. The data reflect the most probable expectation at the moment. However, under no circumstances shall the data published in this Database be understood as any company’s ultimate commitment to execute the project.
This is of particular relevance for projects marked as “planned”. Equally, for the projects marked as “under construction”, the expected capacity expansions are indicative and shall not be understood as any company’s commitment.
Finally, given the uncertainties associated to long term projects, the expected completion dates have been determined indicatively considering three distinct phases and not the precise year.
The database will be reviewed and updated by GSE every 6 months or whenever a request for update is received. Active contribution to the database from all non GSE storage operators is welcome. |
